“An Abundance Of Katherines”

An abundance of katherines is a young adult novel written by an american author, John Green. It was first published in united states in 2006. The novel is about a true genius boy who try to find a meant of happiness.

Colin was just dumped by his nineteenth girlfriend and all of his girlfriends have the name of katherine. After katherine XIX dumps him, colin and his bestfriend, Hassan plans a road trip which will change colin’s whole outlook on love, relationship, and life.

Colin who true genius trying to better person with used simplest equations mathematics. But as the story progress he started to change. He began realize that happiness isn’t come from a katherine or theory but it’s come from people who cared about him.

Although i thought it had a great plot, it wouldn’t be very appealing to someone who gets confused with simplest equations in mathemathics as the novel does include a rather complicated theorem which is to show how long a relationship will last. If you don’t want to see it you could skip them out but to me it makes me understand.

Overall i really enjoyed this novel because it was like having life lesson. Colin’s theory would only reveal the past and it could not show the future, so we learn that we we don’t know who we will become, as the future is unpredictable and we are always changing.
