Persuasive speech - Education (Transcript)

Have you ever wonder how you can increase your income annually and contribute more to society as a whole by investing in secondary education also known as the college education, it can benefit you in multiple ways both for yourself and society as a whole. A strong advocate of earning a college degree is President Barack Obama and in which he stated in 2009 that in a global economy where most valuable skill you can sell is your knowledge, a good education is no longer just a pathway to opportunity, it is a prerequisite by continuing your education has been shown to contribute to beneficial health impacts, economic growth and also individual earnings.

Firstly, higher education has a positive effect on your personal health and you're probably wondering how and why. The World Bank reported in 2009 that a secondary education has a general preventive impact by other means it provides people with not only the skills critically process information but it allows you to makes decisions concerning your own lives and actually bring about long term behavioral change and another health impact of personal health impact is  a study that shows that college graduates actually have a lower smoking rate and more positive perceptions on their personal overall health but overall both of these studies were the effects of people who have greater general ability to process information which they gained by getting a secondary education and getting the college degree.

Secondly, If from earning a higher education, it has a huge impact on our national economic growth with the downturn of that economy over the past few decade with our recession and all our nation depends our creations, our distribution and most effectively our use of knowledge for which we gain by getting our college education. Raymond Scheppach which is the executive director of National Government Governors Association, he stated that receiving a higher education help our economy to innovate and compete on national level.

And Lastly and most importantly as well it contributes to our well-being. Everyone know that education and money somewhat basically run hand in hand. In 2008 the US Departments of Education statistics posted that a person with the bachelor's degree will earn on average twice as much throughout their lifetime as a person with just a high school diploma and you're probably wondering what if I just want associate's degree well that's actually just as good.  In 2007, the US Census Bureau reported that with an associate degree you will actually earn around 25% more than a person with high school diploma throughout their entire lifetime but not only that it's there these gaps between the highschool diploma and the college degrees are actually continued to increase over the years. The results of the higher starting salaries for people with college degrees contribute to the sharper earnings in which we see throughout your career as well so instead of putting your efforts for a higher education on pending status.

Remember the long term effects and the benefits you will earn from the experience of going to college and getting that degree and personal satisfaction that you get by earning degree and also that's just never too late to expand the knowledge that you gain through education and I definitely recommend to begin now and to invest in your future through an education.
